Developing better relationships with customers is essential if Museums, Libraries and Archives are to continue to develop and thrive in society. By actively engaging with their local community, museums, libraries and archives have already demonstrated that services can be shaped according to need and use can increase.
Since the publication of the Government’s White Paper “Strong and Prosperous Communities” , there is now an even greater recognition of the need for the sector to engage with its communities.
MLA South East is keen to develop the skills of the sector in order to meet this challenge and has supported this through providing a number of seminars on Community Profiling and Community Engagement. We are particularly keen to see the sector developing and exploiting links with strategic partners to aid the engagement process.
We are currently also providing specific training opportunities for the sector.
The menu options on the left provide you with a number of resources that are available, many of which relate to seminars organised or support offered by us.
